Attribution
What a byline on this site means
A byline here is a person, not a house name. Each has a page carrying their role, the expertise they can be held to, and the external profiles that corroborate it — and that page is the one this site’s structured data names as the author of their articles, so the attribution can be checked rather than taken on trust.
A byline is not a claim that a human wrote every sentence. Most articles are drafted by a language model from sources gathered for that specific piece, and the editorial policy sets out where that happens and what an editor has to do before a piece is marked as checked. The byline is who is answerable for it.
