Chapman Freeborn joins BlackBook Motorsport network

The UK charter broker has become part of a global motorsports business community to expand its involvement in race logistics and team travel.

Chapman Freeborn, a UK-based jet charter broker, has joined BlackBook Motorsport, a global business community for the motorsports industry, according to Private Jet Card Comparisons.

The network includes races such as Formula 1 and NASCAR and facilitates industry networking among teams, circuits, manufacturers and suppliers, while reporting on industry news. Chapman Freeborn wants to bring its travel offerings closer to motorsports teams, manufacturers and other partners through the membership.

The strategy

Andy Hutchinson, UK Director of Passenger Charter at Chapman Freeborn, said in a press release that motorsport timing aligns with aviation logistics. "Every race starts at a fixed time," Hutchinson said. "And everyone involved needs to be in place well before then."

Hutchinson continued: "Aviation works to the same kind of deadline every day, so motorsport is a natural fit for us. Through the BlackBook community, we can engage directly with the decision-makers responsible for team travel, better understand how their requirements change throughout the season and respond quickly when schedules shift."

Chapman Freeborn's involvement includes its courier services, which it expanded last May. The company views the BlackBook membership as a platform to deepen its positioning in the motorsports space and to engage directly with teams and other decision-makers in the industry.

BlackBook membership and industry practice

Per its website, BlackBook membership includes industry networking, event passes, social media features, and access to BlackBook facilities and lounges. Other charter providers have pursued similar partnerships: VistaJet has also partnered with motorsports events as part of its member luxury travel benefits.

For charter brokers, motorsports partnerships represent a way to differentiate service offerings and build relationships with high-frequency travel planners who operate on tight schedules. BlackBook's model brings together teams, circuits, manufacturers and suppliers in a single community, allowing members like Chapman Freeborn to position themselves alongside other industry participants.

What the reporting does not say

It is unclear from available reporting whether Chapman Freeborn's membership changes pricing or availability for existing jet card holders, or whether it affects booking terms for new motorsports-focused customers. The reporting does not say whether the membership will lead to dedicated services or pricing structures for motorsports teams. Neither Chapman Freeborn nor BlackBook Motorsport has disclosed what cost or commitment the membership entails.

For charter customers booking with Chapman Freeborn, the key question remains unaddressed: whether this partnership creates new service options, dedicated rates, or minimum commitments for motorsports-related travel. The timing of the announcement—made in October but without detail on implementation—suggests these details may emerge as the partnership develops, though no timeline has been disclosed.
