Embraer delivers first Praetor 600E to Flexjet

The fractional operator receives the fleet launch aircraft under a $7 billion agreement for 182 jets signed in February 2025.

Embraer has delivered its first Praetor 600E to Flexjet, making the Ohio-based fractional operator the fleet launch customer for the updated super-midsize business jet. The delivery, disclosed on 18 September, is part of a $7 billion agreement announced in February 2025 that includes firm orders for 182 aircraft, options for a further 30, and an expanded services and support package.

Flexjet expects to receive 12 Praetor 600Es by the end of the year. The operator is also scheduled to take delivery of its first Praetor 500E in the fourth quarter, when it will become the fleet launch customer for that model as well. The aircraft on the line, known as Flexjet's first 600E, carries Embraer's Smart Window, a 42-inch 4K OLED touchscreen mounted over one cabin window that can display video content and live views from three external cameras.

The aircraft and its capabilities

Embraer unveiled the Praetor 600E alongside the Praetor 500E in February 2026. The FAA, European Union Aviation Safety Agency, and Brazil's ANAC certified the 600E in April. The aircraft has a published range of 4,018 nautical miles carrying four passengers under NBAA IFR reserve conditions, and can carry eight to 12 passengers in standard configuration.

The 600E features a redesigned cabin and cabin-management system designed by Lufthansa Technik in partnership with Embraer. The cabin includes dynamic RGB lighting, ergonomic rotating seats, an advanced sound system, and embedded Starlink Wi-Fi for in-flight internet. The cabin control system can be managed via touchscreen interfaces, and Embraer offers the Embraer Cabin Control app, also designed by Lufthansa Technik, which allows passengers to control cabin systems and save presets for various settings.

The aircraft is powered by Honeywell HTF7500E turbofans. Flight-deck features include full fly-by-wire controls, active turbulence reduction, Embraer's Enhanced Vision System, and a runway overrun awareness and alerting system.

Flexjet's relationship with Embraer

Flexjet's relationship with Embraer stretches back to 2003, when a company called Flight Options, which merged with Flexjet in 2013, acquired its first Embraer Legacy jet—the model on which Praetors are based. Flexjet became launch customer for Embraer's Phenom 300 light jet in 2010 and for the original Praetor 500 and 600 in 2019. Flexjet's fleet is now built substantially around Embraer aircraft.

Under the February 2025 agreement, Flexjet's 182 firm orders include Praetor 500s, 600s, and Phenom 300E light jets. Phenom 300E deliveries have already begun.

Flexjet CEO Michael Silvestro said the milestone delivery continues "a success story we have had with Embraer Executive Jets that began back in 2003." He added: "As the leader in luxury private aviation, fractional aircraft owners look to Flexjet to provide access to the world's most advanced aircraft. Embraer's unwavering commitment to innovation, exemplified by the Praetor 600E, continues to deliver the breakthroughs that enable us not only to meet those expectations, but exceed them."

Michael Amalfitano, President and CEO of Embraer Executive Jets, said: "This milestone reflects the strength of our longstanding relationship, the winning combination of next-generation features onboard the Praetor 600E, and Flexjet's continued confidence in Embraer's ability to deliver industry-leading aircraft that meet the evolving needs of its bespoke customers."
