Jet Aviation Miami FBO earns IS-BAH Stage 2 certification

The General Dynamics unit's newest facility, which opened fully in July at Opa Locka Executive Airport, is now certified across all of its U.S. locations.

Jet Aviation's FBO at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport has earned IS-BAH Stage 2 certification, according to Private Jet Card Comparisons. The facility, which is 27 acres, marks the operator's 12th location in the United States.

Jet Aviation began operations at Miami-Opa Locka last November, with the facility opening fully in July. The FBO building comprises 8,500 square feet, with an additional 40,000 square feet of hangarage.

The certification means Jet Aviation now holds IS-BAH Stage 2 certification across all of its U.S. FBOs. Matt Feinstein, a Jet Aviation vice-president, said in a press release that "the safety and security of our people, visitors to our sites, and the assets in our care is our number one priority at all times." He added that the company is "incredibly proud to have IS-BAH Stage 2 certification at all of our FBOs in the U.S., and to see our newest facility recognised for its robust safety practices and comprehensive training program just a few months after launching full operations."

Feinstein continued: "This achievement reflects the strong safety culture we embed from day one, as well as the team's commitment to maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence to ensure a seamless experience for our customers in Miami and beyond."

Jet Aviation is a subsidiary of General Dynamics and provides aircraft management, aircraft sales, charter services, FBO management and maintenance. The operator is also planning an FBO at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Denver, though the reporting does not say when it is expected to open or what stage of development it is in.

What the reporting does not cover

Private Jet Card Comparisons does not say how many aircraft the Miami facility can hangar, what specific services are available to charter clients or existing card holders, or whether the certification affects pricing or availability for customers already using Jet Aviation's other U.S. locations. The article also does not clarify whether existing Jet Aviation customers will see any operational changes as a result of the Miami FBO's full certification status.
