NBAA reelects five directors and appoints three to advisory council
The aviation trade association refreshed its governance at its annual convention in Las Vegas, with board members securing three-year terms and new advisers appointed.

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) reelected five members to its Board of Directors during its annual meeting at the 2026 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) in Las Vegas, according to General Aviation News.
Reelected to three-year terms were Jennifer Alessio, director of aviation at Hewlett Packard Enterprise; Matt Byrd, president and CEO of Hillwood Aviation; Shelly deZevallos, principal at Independent Mortgage Company; Craig Olson, vice president of aviation at Starbucks Coffee Company; and Charlie Precourt, member at 78CL Aviation.
The association also named Elizabeth Dornak, director of aviation at DuPont, as chair emeritus following the conclusion of her service as a director. The role allows former board members who have reached term limits to provide ongoing guidance and mentorship to current directors.
Jim Schwertner, president and CEO of Schwertner Farms, concluded 13 years on the board during the meeting. Service as chair emeritus also ended for Ronald Duncan of General Communication, Monte J.M. Koch of Choice Hotels, and Lloyd "Fig" Newton.
NBAA appointed Amanda Applegate of Soar Aviation Law, Eric Hinson of FlightSafety International, and Vivek Kaushal of Global Jet Capital to its Advisory Council.
"We are pleased Jennifer, Matt, Shelly, Craig, and Charlie will remain on the board, and are grateful for their strong leadership and support," said Dan Hubbard, NBAA interim COO.
What the governance changes mean
The reelection of these five directors ensures continuity in the association's leadership as it represents the sector's interests. The appointment of three new advisory council members extends NBAA's reach into aviation law, pilot training, and aircraft financing.
For corporate flight departments and aviation operations, the changes do not directly affect aircraft access or pricing. The moves signal stability in the organisation's operations and leadership direction as NBAA continues to advocate for the business aviation industry.
It is unclear from available reporting whether these governance changes affect NBAA's policy positions or priorities for the coming year.
