OneFlight discounts Labor Day jet cards, Textron Aviation names new CEO, and four other stories
The jet card broker offers a $250,000 package worth over $650,000. Brian Rohloff takes the helm at Textron Aviation after 29 years with the company.

OneFlight International is offering a $500,000 jet card and a 10-hour heavy jet card for $250,000 under a promotion called Labor Day Double Play. The Colorado-based jet card broker says the deal is worth over $650,000, calculated from the current average hourly rate for a large-cabin jet of $15,236 including tax and fuel surcharges.
Textron Aviation has appointed Brian Rohloff as president and chief executive, effective 31 August. Rohloff, who has spent 29 years at the company, replaces Ron Draper, who retired after eight years in the role. Rohloff most recently led customer support and will remain connected with customers and employees during the transition.
Silver Lining Catering has launched a health-focused menu for private aviation flights. Blackhawk Aerospace unveiled engine upgrades for legacy turboprops at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh. A 1998 Beechcraft Baron 58 is for sale in North Carolina with avionics and training included. The aviation industry also marked the passing of longtime attorney Gary Garofalo, a former NBAA Tax Committee chair.
OneFlight offers Labor Day jet card promotion
OneFlight International is selling a $500,000 jet card and a 10-hour heavy jet card together for $250,000. The current average hourly rate for a large-cabin jet is $15,236, including 7.5% federal excise tax and fuel surcharges, making the combined package worth over $650,000. The promotion equates to a 61% discount, according to the broker. Standard jet card terms apply to the $500,000 component.
Last week, OneFlight emailed current clients imposing a 35% surcharge with immediate effect, citing "extraordinary economic pressures currently affecting private aviation". Hours later, the company sent a follow-up email rescinding the surcharge. Other recent deals from the broker have included 20 hours on a light jet for $100,000, 15 hours on a light jet for $100,000, and a combination jet card of 40 flight hours in light and super-midsize jets for $240,000.
Earlier this year, OneFlight launched a television advertising campaign featuring PGA professionals Akshay Bhatia and Sahith Theegala alongside Shark Tank investor Robert Herjavec and OneFlight CEO Ferren Rajput. In January, McLaren Racing named the company as official private aviation partner for its Formula 1 team.
Brian Rohloff becomes Textron Aviation CEO
Brian Rohloff has taken over as president and chief executive of Textron Aviation, effective 31 August. Rohloff has worked at the Wichita-based aircraft manufacturer for 29 years, most recently as senior vice-president of customer support. He has also held positions including vice-president of supply chain, vice-president of sales, and vice-president of quality at Cessna. Textron Aviation notes that Rohloff helped start the Citation CJ4 production line in 2009.
Ron Draper, the outgoing CEO, spent eight years in the role and 27 years total at Textron Aviation and its affiliates. He will remain a senior advisor through year-end to ensure a smooth transition. Draper's career included roles as director of supply chain management and various positions across Textron's divisions.
The leadership change comes as Textron Aviation progresses with a project to bring technological updates to its Cessna business jet lineup, which includes several decades-old platforms.
Silver Lining Catering launches Pure Aviation health-focused menu
Silver Lining Catering, based in Pompano Beach, Florida, has launched Pure Aviation Curation (PAC), a health-focused menu for private aviation customers. The new menu, announced at an event at the company's headquarters earlier this month, features lean, protein-rich foods including juices, breakfast, salad, entrees, bowls, and healthy desserts.
Mike Linder, Silver Lining CEO, told Private Jet Card Comparisons he decided to roll out the menu "due to the change in everyone's eating habits and keeping up with trends of healthier eating and seed oil free". The menu reflects challenges for caterers serving private aviation, including adapting to shifting dietary preferences and preparing food in jets with cramped kitchens equipped typically with only a microwave and perhaps a small oven.
Silver Lining delivers between 75 and hundreds of daily orders depending on the season, operating a fleet of dedicated delivery vehicles and making as many as half a dozen trips to regional airports. Orders serve between 2 and 16 people and cost about $100 per person, including a delivery fee. The company serves private jets departing South Florida airports from Palm Beach to Miami.
Blackhawk Aerospace showcases turboprop engine upgrades at Oshkosh
Blackhawk Aerospace displayed upgraded turboprop aircraft at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, demonstrating that older airframes with modern engines can compete with current production aircraft. Edwin Black, president of Blackhawk Aerospace, presented a modified Pilatus PC-12 and a TBM 700 with engine upgrades.
The PC-12, known as "Perry" and owned by Mark Patey, features a Finnoff engine upgrade swapping the factory Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-67B (rated at 1,200 shaft horsepower) for the uprated PT6A-67P. The upgrade increases allowable interstage turbine temperature limits from 800 degrees Celsius at takeoff and 760 degrees in climb and cruise to 850 and 820 degrees respectively, providing roughly 142 additional thermodynamic horsepower. Critically for high-altitude operations, the upgraded engine can hold full rated power all the way to 25,000 feet, whereas a stock PC-12 begins losing power above 15,000 feet under standard conditions.
Blackhawk also displayed a TBM 700 with a newly certified engine upgrade, whose owner had been a visitor to the show grounds a year earlier.
1998 Beechcraft Baron 58 for sale in North Carolina
A 1998 Beechcraft Baron 58 twin-engine piston aircraft is listed for $575,000 in North Carolina. The aircraft comes with 4,715 total hours on the airframe and engines showing 1,110 hours since major overhaul in December 2015. The three-blade propellers have logged 780 hours since their last major overhaul. The airframe features white exterior with blue, red, and tan striping in good condition.
The aircraft offers a six-seat club interior with gray leather seating, matching gray carpet, factory air conditioning, and an executive writing desk. It has a useful load of 1,425 pounds and a 194-gallon fuel system. The instrument panel is centred on a Garmin GTN 750 WAAS GPS/nav/com, with additional avionics including a King KFC 200 autopilot with flight director and HSI, Garmin GTX 330ES ADS-B Out transponder, Garmin ADS-B weather, BFG SkyWatch 497 traffic alert system, WX-1000E Stormscope, and Bendix RDR 2000 vertical profile colour weather radar. The aircraft is equipped with a known-icing package and wing ice lights.
The listing includes an original logbook, annual inspection completed in April 2026, and Baron 58 training school with the purchase price. The aircraft has old damage history noted in the listing.
NBAA marks passing of aviation attorney Gary Garofalo
The National Business Aviation Association paid tribute to Gary Garofalo, a longtime aviation attorney and former NBAA Tax Committee chair. Garofalo, whose contributions shaped aviation law and policy, passed away on 22 August.
What it means
OneFlight's Labor Day promotion reflects pricing pressure in the jet card market, though the surcharge the company attempted last week and then rescinded suggests volatility in how operators are responding to cost pressures. The rapid reversal signals sensitivity among existing clients to rate increases. Brokers tracking this market should watch whether the promotion drives demand or signals a need for discounting to move inventory.
Textron Aviation's leadership transition places a customer-focused operations veteran in charge of an aircraft manufacturer navigating aged platforms and a competitive market. Rohloff's three decades of experience in supply chain, sales, and support roles across Cessna and Beechcraft gives him visibility into both production and customer experience. The company's emphasis on his commitment to "listen, learn and remain close" suggests continuity after a period of modernisation efforts on its business jet line.
The other developments—catering innovation, engine upgrades for legacy aircraft, and aircraft transactions—reflect a market where operators are maintaining and enhancing existing assets rather than replacing them wholesale, and where specialised services are adapting to customer preferences.
