Private jet flights edge up 0.4% year-over-year in week 41

Global activity reached over 81,000 departures, with North American charter weakness offsetting gains elsewhere.

Global private jet activity remained broadly flat in week 41, with WingX reporting just over 81,000 departures worldwide—a 0.4% increase compared with the same week last year, according to Private Jet Card Comparisons.

The slight gain marked a modest recovery from the previous week, which saw about 2% fewer flights. However, it reflected sharp divergence within the market: the North American charter segment fell 10% in the week, with fractional ownership flights continuing to grow. WingX analyst Nick Koscinski told Private Jet Card Comparisons that "the charter market, which is now down three weeks running and fell 10% last week, with North America hit hardest" suggested "a squeeze on the more price-sensitive end of the market rather than a broad pullback".

Year-to-date activity

On a year-to-date basis, 2026 is running 3.3% ahead of the same period in 2025—a decline from earlier in the year. Of the 41 weeks completed, 24 showed growth, five were flat, and 12 were down. The past two weeks have both recorded declines.

Over the past four weeks—a trailing metric that smooths week-to-week volatility—private jet departures totalled approximately 328,000, about 2% ahead of the same four-week period last year.

North America

North America, the largest market for private jet activity, recorded just over 59,000 departures in week 41, matching the global year-over-year trend of 0.4% growth. This was a shift from the previous week, when the region accounted for nearly all of the global gain.

Within North America, the United States recorded about 57,196 departures, up 1% year-over-year. Performance was uneven across states: Florida and California each recorded 2% declines compared with week 41 of 2025, whilst smaller states showed year-over-year gains. Texas reported 10% week-over-week growth and drove roughly 3% additional U.S. flights compared with the previous week.

Europe

Europe recorded nearly 12,000 private jet departures, up 2% year-over-year—a larger gain than North America. The UK led with a 12% year-over-year increase, offsetting declines in Germany, France, and Switzerland.
