PrivateJet.com expands AI charter assistant to Instagram direct messages
Private Jet Card Comparisons reports that Wilbur, the broker's AI tool launched on its website in September 2025, now lets users search for charter flights and quotes through social media.
PrivateJet.com, a Miami-based charter broker, has expanded its AI jet charter assistant, Wilbur, to Instagram direct messages, according to Private Jet Card Comparisons. The tool makes it the first such assistant to operate through social media.
Private Jet Card Comparisons reports that the broker launched Wilbur on its website in September 2025. Users can now also access it by sending a direct message to PrivateJet.com's Instagram account. The tool lets users search sample flights by selecting checkboxes or using a casual chatbot format, compare aircraft, estimate charter costs, answer aviation questions, and receive sample quotes.
Wilbur uses PrivateJet.com's internal data to generate estimates, including over a million quotes, according to a PrivateJet.com spokesperson cited by Private Jet Card Comparisons. Michael Loff, PrivateJet.com Director of Charter Sales, said in a press release that "People want to understand what aircraft is right for their trip and what it's going to cost, without having to wait to speak with someone." Loff continued: "Wilbur gives them that information immediately, so they can start making informed decisions on their own time."
The AI assistant cannot book flights directly. Once users decide what they want, a charter broker must complete the booking. This mirrors the functionality of competing tools such as JetGPT and Look Book & Fly.
Wilbur is the first AI assistant of its kind to work through social media direct messages. Most others require an online browser, though Jet.AI's assistant can also be used through Claude or ChatGPT by connecting to their MCP server link.
A PrivateJet.com spokesperson told Private Jet Card Comparisons that the assistant is "constantly learning and getting smarter with every inquiry, and the feedback we've received from clients and users has been incredibly positive." Private Jet Card Comparisons reports that future capabilities and features are in development.
PrivateJet.com launched in 2025 with a dynamic pricing membership model. David Gitman, owner of Monarch Air Group, is the broker's principal. Membership requires a refundable $100,000 deposit, and members receive a 2% bonus flight credit for every $100,000 deposited.
