SyberJet opens reservations for SJ34 and SJ36 business jets
The Arizona manufacturer announced production timelines of 2029 for the SJ34 and 2032 for the SJ36 at NBAA-BACE in Las Vegas on Monday.
SyberJet Aircraft has opened reservations for its next-generation SJ34 and SJ36 business jets at NBAA-BACE in Las Vegas on Monday, according to Flying Magazine. The Arizona-based manufacturer announced production timelines of 2029 for the SJ34 and 2032 for the SJ36 at an exclusive, invite-only SyberJet World event held at Henderson Executive Airport.
Reservations can be placed on the company's website or by contacting sales@syberjet.com. Neither the SJ34 nor the SJ36 is yet certified or available for purchase in the market; the announcement opens a pre-production reservation process.
The SJ34: single-pilot transcontinental performer
The SJ34 is designed to replace the FAA-certified SJ30-2, for which production ceased in 2009. SyberJet projects the aircraft to cruise at up to Mach 0.83, approximately 637 mph, putting it on par with Embraer's Praetor 500/600. The aircraft will be equipped with larger Williams International engines providing between 5,000 and 6,400 pounds of total thrust, designed to improve takeoff performance in high-and-hot conditions.
The SJ34 has an estimated range of 2,500 nm and will climb to 49,000 feet, maintaining sea-level cabin pressure up to 41,000 feet. It is designed as a single-pilot aircraft with an all-new interior accommodating a pilot and up to six passengers. Flying Magazine noted that in August, SyberJet made an unofficial claim for the East-to-West transcontinental speed record in the C-1.f aircraft class after the SJ30-2 flew nonstop from Jacksonville, Florida to San Diego. The aircraft logged an average speed of 505.3 mph and completed the journey in about 4 hours and 7 minutes.
The SJ36: bridging light and midsize markets
The nine-seat SJ36 is expected to bridge a gap in the light and midsize jet markets, according to SyberJet. Like the SJ34, the SJ36 is intended for single-pilot operation and will climb to 49,000 feet while maintaining sea-level cabin pressure up to 41,000 feet. Flying Magazine reported that SyberJet unveiled its first full-scale SJ36 mock-up at the event.
SyberJet CEO Trevor Milton said in a news release: "Aviation has not seen a real disruption in a long time. We came in with big dreams, and many people doubted our ability to deliver, but I think we did a good job." The reporting does not specify which performance characteristics the SJ36 shares with the SJ34, or what distinguishes it beyond seat count and size category.
