FlyJets launches JetGPT, an AI agent for charter flight-finding

The automated assistant searches empty legs and flight-sharing opportunities across FlyJets' platform, with full release following a February beta.

FlyJets has launched JetGPT, an artificial intelligence agent designed to automate flight-finding on its charter marketplace and flight-sharing platform. According to Flying Magazine, the AI agent went live on FlyJets' web and mobile applications alongside multiple fall and winter flight-sharing opportunities, including routes between New York and Miami and Palm Beach.

JetGPT is an LLM-based tool that users can instruct via typing or dictation. It offers real-time access to charter availability, pricing, and what FlyJets describes as "related, direct-from-operator datasets," including lists of empty legs, flight-sharing opportunities, and airport availability. The agent allows users to filter flights by operator safety rating, price, or space; execute bookings and sales based on given parameters; find available spaces; and set automatic route alert notifications for when specific routes become available.

Capabilities and use cases

FlyJets founder and CEO Jessica Fisher said the company "built and improved JetGPT in keeping with FlyJets' core goals of delivering transparency, accuracy, and efficiency—while helping our community…save time and money." She added: "We are looking to make the process of charter flight-finding and sharing as simple as possible, for the maximum number of people."

Flying Magazine reported sample use cases include queries such as "Compile a list of all empty legs going in and out of Van Nuys Airport over the next week and include three photos of each aircraft," or "Book a flight on a super-midsize jet from Teterboro to Opa-Locka Airport that comes to less than $22,000 all-in, if available; thereafter, sell three spaces on the flight via the Exchange for $3,500.00 each."

FlyJets launched a beta version of JetGPT in February. The full release incorporates improvements derived from customer feedback. A 24/7 human advisory desk remains available for customers who require further assistance.

What the reporting does not address

The announcement does not change pricing on FlyJets' platform; JetGPT is a search and booking tool layered onto existing empty-leg and flight-sharing markets. For cardholders and aircraft owners using FlyJets to find shared flights or resell empty legs, the agent may reduce the time spent searching and comparing options. However, the reporting does not indicate whether use of JetGPT carries additional fees beyond FlyJets' standard platform charges.

Flying Magazine reported that in the future, FlyJets said an upgraded JetGPT V2 could provide booking and pricing suggestions for sellers. It could also access user dashboards, fleet operating models, and the company's FLYGreen Initiative, which rewards users who opt to fly with sustainable aviation fuel or use carbon offsets. Fisher added that as fall and winter options grow, the company hopes the interface will provide effective guidance throughout the process of flight-sharing and buying and selling spaces via the app.
