Global private jet activity flat year-over-year in week 37, North America down slightly

Weekly departures reached 80,425 globally, up 8% from the prior week, but the year-to-date trend shows growth of only 3.4% compared with 2025.

Global private jet flight activity recorded 80,425 total departures in week 37, ended 13 September 2026, according to Private Jet Card Comparisons, which cited WingX analysis. This represented an 8% jump from the previous week's 73,000 flights, but activity was virtually flat compared with week 37 of 2025.

Year-to-date, private jet activity stands 3.4% ahead of 2025, a decline from earlier in the year. The year-to-date scorecard shows 22 weeks of growth, 4 flat weeks, and 11 weeks behind prior-year numbers since the start of 2026. Nick Koscinski, a WingX analyst, said that 'global bizjet activity was flat last week, with the year-to-date figure holding steady at +3.4%, although this year-to-date trend is now slightly behind where we were at this point last year.'

Private Jet Card Comparisons noted that the industry has been essentially running in place for the last 11 weeks. Over the past four weeks, private jets recorded 309,092 total departures, about the same as the equivalent period in 2025, showing limited growth over the last few weeks of summer.

North America and regional performance

North America remains the largest private jet market, with just over 56,000 total departures in week 37. The United States recorded 55,459 of these departures, about 1% fewer flights than the same week last year. However, the US saw an 11% increase compared with the immediately preceding week, driven by growth in Florida and Texas, each posting double-digit week-over-week gains.

California saw a drop of about 8% year-over-year, largely offset by a 10% rise in Florida. Light jets remain the most popular aircraft flown in North America and have also seen a 3.2% year-over-year jump in departures.

Koscinski highlighted that South America and Africa continue to see significant growth, describing this as a recurring trend in recent weeks, even as global activity stagnates. It is unclear from available reporting whether these emerging markets' growth is sufficient to offset weakness in established markets like North America.
